Eleven weeks of care for pregnant women, mothers, and newborns at the state reception center.
Before
The Lebach state reception center was designed for around 1,200 people and in autumn 2015 at times housed up to 2,300 refugees from more than 65 countries. On some days, up to 300 people arrived.
The mission
On 8 August 2015 the organization's first mission in Germany began: a midwifery clinic for refugee women, new mothers, and newborns. Together with volunteers, the German Red Cross, and later the Saarland Ministry of Social Affairs, regular consultations were set up within a few weeks — first in an ambulance, then in a container.
The focus was on antenatal care, postpartum support, newborn follow-up, and early detection of complications. The team also handed out clothing, baby food, and prams. The first day showed how great the need was: women waited in the pouring rain for the consultation.

After eleven intensive weeks, the clinic was handed over — a nationally recognized pioneering project for direct, low-barrier support.
